In partnership with the American Heart Association (AHA), Corebridge provided 140 Adult & Child CPR Anytime® Kits to the Houston Independent School District (HISD). The donation was made possible as part of our company’s sponsorship of AHA Houston’s Restart a Heart Day and their initiatives to train more people in lifesaving CPR skills.
The initiative, aimed at empowering students with the knowledge and skills to respond to cardiac emergencies, will enhance the district's health education curriculum and foster a safer school environment. In 2013, Texas passed House Bill 897 which requires students in grades seventh through twelfth to learn CPR before they graduate. The district plans to integrate the Anytime Kits into the existing CPR training curriculum to support high school students in meeting the graduation requirement.
In addition to the Adult & Child CPR Anytime® Kits, the delivery included a CPR & First Aid Anywhere Training Kit and a wheeled duffel for added mobility and flexibility in training. These resources will help prepare students to take lifesaving action in emergency situations, while also helping them to achieve academic success.
Previously, Corebridge hosted one of the AHA’s Houston Restart a Heart Day training sites and engaged employee volunteers in training 85 individuals in hands-only CPR.
