PROVIDE

Providing Restated 403(b) Plan Documents to Your Recordkeeper or Administrator

Recent federal law changes—including the SECURE Act, CARES Act, and SECURE 2.0—are driving updates to 403(b) plan documents. If Corebridge does not provide plan document services for your plan, but provides recordkeeping services, or if we still manage plan assets, you may be asked to provide Corebridge with a copy of your restated plan documents.

Why you may be receiving communications

The IRS requires periodic updates to 403(b) plan documents to incorporate legislative and regulatory changes. Depending on the services Corebridge provides, Corebridge may need a current copy of your plan’s restated documents on file for administration and compliance support.

What you may receive

  • A request to provide a copy of your current/restated 403(b) plan documents

  • Instructions on how/where to submit documents

  • Follow-up reminders if documents are not received

What you need to do now

  • Review the request carefully to confirm what documents are needed

  • Coordinate with your document provider if applicable

  • Provide Corebridge the requested restated documents as instructed

Frequently asked questions

Corebridge provides administrative/recordkeeping services for your plan and needs updated plan documents on file.

Not necessarily. If you use another provider for plan documents, you may need to supply the restated documents to Corebridge.

Typically, your executed/restated plan document package and any adoption materials or amendments referenced in the request.

That’s common. You can coordinate with your provider to obtain the executed restated documents and submit them to Corebridge.

Your communication will state any due date for providing documents. Meeting deadlines helps avoid follow-ups and administrative delays.

If you already submitted them, retain confirmation for your records and follow any guidance in the communication if additional items are needed.

You may receive reminders until the requested documents are received and processed.

Use the contact information included in the communication or your Corebridge representative for routing assistance.
